POSITION SUMMARY
Implement appropriate behavior intervention and teaching techniques under previously established standards, emphasizing the safety of identified clients and other individuals. Comply with program procedures including timely submission of documentation, adherence to Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and behavioral and teaching interventions of school and non-school systems. Work under moderate supervision.

The successful Behavior Technician must have or be able to quickly acquire working knowledge of educational environments for special needs students. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or the equivalent plus a reasonable understanding of the unique needs of cognitively impaired individuals is generally required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Abides by and demonstrates the company Mission _ Vision _ Values through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis.
2. Implement intervention protocols established by BMAC and/or support team members to assist the person served in achieving the goals established by their education plan or care system. Collect behavior and function data on the person receiving services.
3. Ensure safety, support and appropriate training for person receiving services while fostering independent functioning.
4. Teach independent functioning and pro-social behavior by modeling appropriate social and professional behavior. Encourage positive communication with others.
5. Serve as a Mandated Reporter of suspicion of neglect or abuse. Notify the appropriate State Protective Service (Child or Adult) as appropriate.
6. Implement community integration activities under the direction of the assigned BMAC and/or support team members to assist the person receiving services with a variety of needs during activities. Assist the person receiving services in learning safe community behavior and community skills.
7. Report progress to the Clinical Manager, Behavior Analyst, IEP Manager and/or Case Worker and family members as appropriate.
8. Observe, document and report changes in the condition of the person served to the Clinical Manager, Behavior Analyst, teacher and other education or service team members as appropriate.
9. Provide intervention progress and status documentation in accordance with BMAC protocols.
10. Participate in the team process; provide input and effective intervention strategies. Attend team and educational meetings.
11. Use appropriate methods and tools in all teaching and training activities, including those associated with transitioning to new environments or from program supports.
12. Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature. Share information only when the recipients right to access is clearly established and the sharing of such information is clearly in the best interest of the person served.
13. Collect and document items necessary for the organization to complete a thorough and effective program evaluation and program improvement.
14. Attend, participate in and/or conduct internal staff development programs, obtain continuing education as required by Company policy and regulations. Maintain and enhance behavior training skills.
15. Perform other duties as assigned in response to the person serviced, office and/or program needs.
16. Adheres to and participates in Companys mandatory HIPAA privacy program / practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs / practices.
17. Reviews and adheres to all Company policies and procedures and the Employee Handbook.
18. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. |
