- CVOR TECH 2 Open Heart Surgical Techs needed MUST have current (within the last year) open heart experience in the 1st scrub tech role 2 years of scrubbing experience and at least one year of Open Heart Scrub Tech experience required Must have knowledge of the function of heart valves ONE year of TRAVEL experience Days, 6:30a-3p, M-F Will also need to be on call ORT Certificate and BLS required Responsible for performing technical responsibilities relative to assisting cardiothoracic surgeons with the instrumentation of Open Heart surgery, as well as assisting in the preparation and management of tubings utilized by the heart-lung (pump) machine. Pulls supplies for assigned surgical case. Opens surgical room. Present and scrubbed in room once patient is in on the OR table. Arranges instruments according to routine for given procedures. Reviews physician individual preference cards and updates/maintains same. Conducts pre and post-op sponge, sharps and instrument counts with Registered Nurse assigned to room.
