Job Specifics:
Surgical Assistants act as a first or second assistant on all assigned surgical cases providing technical assistance as required by the type of procedure and by the direction of the surgeon; assists with the sterilization and preparation of equipment and supplies. Disposes of contaminated items as directed by the OR policy and maintains sterility at all times; maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment for the OR suites; supply carts and storage rooms.

Job Requirements:
-Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Assistant Program.
-May substitute training in operating room procedures from military or vocational training program.
-BLS certification required or successful completion of Certification within 6 months of hire.
-HS Diploma or GED required.
-Position requires On Call and candidates must be on hospital premises within 30 minutes.
