The ideal Candidate should posses the following:

Have either (a) successfully completed a telemetry technician course accredited by one the following: (a) The National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), or (b) the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or (c)  the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or (d) a formal military program that trains medical technicians, or one year experience monitoring EKG/Arrhythmia in a physician's office, clinic, hospital, or similar setting within the preceding 3 years. Non-certified HCWs shall demonstrate that their experience has provided the HCW with those concepts fundamental to developing an understanding of the heart and its application in interpreting electrical activity including basic medical terminology, cardiovascular anatomy and physiology related to the heart and electrophysiology, monitoring principles, and an analysis of common and potentially lethal dysrhythmias or (b),
 
Have a minimum of 2 years experience monitoring EKG/Arrhythmia in a physician's office, clinic, hospital, or similar setting within the last 3 years.
